Virat Kohli creates history, breaks Rahul Dravid's stunning all-time record

Virat Kohli created history and broke a long-standing record of Rahul Dravid during the 2nd ODI between India and England at Sophia Gardens in Cardiff on Thursday (July 16). The star batter walked out to bat in the eighth over after Shubman Gill's dismissal following a fine knock of 31 runs in 30 balls, which gave the visitors a quick start.

Kohli got off the mark on the fifth ball with a boundary off Jofra Archer with a sublime straight drive. The shot also saw the 38-year-old star create history with another massive all-time record, as he went past Dravid in an elite list.

Kohli now has the most runs to his name among Indian batters in England across all formats with 2646 runs (and counting in the country). He has played 59 matches (79 innings) in the country during the course of his storied career. This is also the most by any Asian batter in international cricket on England soil.

Interestingly, Kohli has broken the record at the ground; he scored his only ODI ton in England (in 2011). The match was Dravid's final ODI game for the Men in Blue in his career.
