10 records broken by Rohit Sharma with his 138 vs England at Lord's

Rohit Sharma turned back the clock at Lord's on Sunday with a sensational 138 (110) against England cricket team">England cricket team">England cricket team">England cricket team">England in the third ODI. Chasing 388, the 39-year-old took India quite close, but the team lost by 27 runs. Still, it was a befitting reply to his critics and a reminder that no matter what the selectors believed, he wasn't done yet. The knock also saw him break as many as ten huge records. Here's a full list of them. 

1. At 39 years and 80 days, Rohit became the oldest Indian to score a century. The previous best was Sachin Tendulkar's memorable 100th ton against Bangladesh in Mirpur at 38 years and 327 days in 2012.

2. Rohit's century was the first ever ODI hundred by an Indian at Lord's. The previous highest was 90 runs off 119 balls by Sourav Ganguly against England on September 5, 2004.

3. This was Rohit's 46th international century as an opener, the highest for India, going past Tendulkar again.

4. In England alone, this was Rohit's eighth ODI century. No player in the world has as many in an away nation, breaking the record held by Quinton de Kock (seven, India), AB de Villiers (seven, India), Saeed Anwar (seven, UAE), and Tendulkar (seven, UAE).

5. Rohit became the first player to score 15 ODI centuries in the SENA countries (South Africa, England, New Zealand, and Australia).

6. With his first ton at Lord's, Rohit became the only visiting batter to score an international ton in eight different English grounds.

7. Rohit's 138 was also the highest score against England in England, bettering his own record made with a 137 not out in Nottingham in 2018.

8. This was Rohit's fourth century in ODI series deciders, the most, again beating de Kock and de Villiers.

9. In terms of runs, Rohit became the first to cross the 1000-run mark in ODI series deciders. Virat Kohli is second on the list with 858 runs.

10. This was the 17th time Rohit scored 130 or more in an ODI innings, the most by any batter, going past Tendulkar's 16.
